Our Story

Breakfast Table is a family business that seeks to provide unique Asian flavour influences to Vancouver diners. Launched in September 2016 by brothers-in-law George Koay and Michael Lee to bring their own perspective to brunch in Vancouver. Each had been working in the restaurant industry for over a decade and wanted something that would be their own, a reflection of their values. With a focus on quality ingredients, thoughtful preparations and authentic cultural influences in a welcoming, warm environment.

The whole thing came together so quickly, George spotted a location for sale and within a couple of months they were operating. As such there wasn’t much time to put a visible fingerprint on the first location, the quality food and personable service made up their identity. The lineups and wait times quickly grew longer. After three years, the hunt was on for a bigger restaurant!

Amazingly a promising new space in the same neighbourhood was available. Bigger, brighter more inviting and with a patio that feels like an oasis from the busy street out front. The team took more time to refresh this space and opened the doors in January 2020.

As we approach the close of our sixth year in business our family is growing. We are building out a new space in Steveston… We are all so excited for the challenges and growth that come with expansion.
